Personal Item:

• Size Allowance: 33 x 43 x 16 cm (13 x 17 x 6 in) 
• Examples for Personal Items: Briefcases, purses, small backpacks, camera bags, laptop computers, or small garment bags
• All passengers are permitted one personal item onboard.

Standard Carry-On Baggage:

• Size Allowance: 55 x 40 x 23 cm (21.5 x 15.5 x 9 in)
• Examples: Duffel bag, backpack, suitcase, or pet carrier.
• Pet carriers count as the one standard carry-on baggage permitted onboard. Hence, passengers traveling with pets will only be allowed one additional personal item.

• Crowbars, hammers, drills, drill bits, screwdrivers, chisels exceeding 6 cm shaft length, saws, blowtorches, nail guns, and bolt guns.

Explosive or Incendiary Substances:

• Ammunition, propellant powder, blasting caps, detonators, mines, grenades, flares, fireworks, and smoke-producing canisters or cartridges.

Liquids, Aerosols, and Gels:

• Containers larger than 100 ml or 100 g, except for essential liquids for infants, must fit in a 1-liter sealed clear plastic bag.

Dangerous Goods:

• Transport only if listed in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations, including caustic materials, compressed gasses, and other hazardous substances.

Inorganic Powder and Granular Material:

• Over 350 ml of powder or granular substances like baby powder, foot powder, cooking powder, bath salt, sea salt, and sand.

Items Banned in Carry-On for Flights to the US

• Knives of any type are prohibited for flights being precleared in Canada bound for the United States.
